Hats off Challenge the reveal.

Today is the day!!  Thank you to Bobby, from BeadsongJewelry for organizing this challenge.

The idea is to be inspired by hats from Ascot or the Kentucky Derby.  Having never been to America, yet, and only ever seen the hats from Ascot on the telly - but I have driven past the race course in the pouring rain - my piece is actually a bit of a cheat, but don't tell.

I doodled and sketched hats for days, and nothing seemed to be right, then I remembered by necklace I had made for my brothers wedding on Valentines Day, this year, and that I had made a hat necklace.

So here is my piece for the challenge, I don't think I could have made a better piece, even if I wasn't cheating!

Featuring by beloved Golden Retrievers, Iz and Defi, who else?  Iz is properly dressed for a day at the wedding or a day at the races, in her racing colours of red, black and gold, her hat is a suitably English garden affair.

for more hats inspired pieces please visit the list below, I am sure no one else has cheated quite as much as me!

  3. You're allowed to "cheat" as long as you can come up with something soooooooo great. Your piece made me smile ear to ear!!! It doesn't get any better than that.

  7. Hi Laney,
I would not say that you cheated, because you did make the necklace and it has a beautiful hat and falls into the whimsical category. I think it is a beautiful piece and a conversation starter too.
